Hello! Welcome to Marian the Foodie’s food and travel blog! Thank you so much for stopping by.
This blog has changed so much since I first started blogging in August 2009 and it still continues to evolve. What started off as a recipe blog just for me and my close family and friends has changed into a blog filled with info on food events, recipes, restaurant reviews and all other food and travel related topics that I share with all of you. I have always had a passion for food and cooking for my loved ones. Maybe it’s because I was raised in a traditional Filipino home where food and family was very important. My experience living abroad and traveling has deepened that passion even further. Working for the Anteater Pub and Grille while I was in college at UCIrvine really gave me an appreciation for the people that work in that industry. Peak lunch hours behind the kitchen was intense! Plus there was the cleaning, sweeping and all the other things involved when you worked for a busy college restaurant and bar.
Each step of this culinary and blogging journey of mine has been super fun and ridiculously awesome! I have met some really amazing people who share this same love of food and community as I do. Food brings me so much joy and sharing my experiences and adventures with all of YOU truly makes me happy.
Another passion of mine is traveling. I have been fortunate enough to have lived in the Philippines, Singapore and China and traveled to many Asian countries. Whether it’s to another city/state or to another country, I love meeting other people, learning about other cultures, and seeing the sights and wonders. What I love the most about traveling are the people that I meet and the food that I share with them. I hope to be able to continue to travel internationally and taste all the flavors of the world. I’m slowly but surely crossing off my long list of places to go to.
A little bit about me…
I LOVE:
- my awesome family & friends (I’m blessed and thankful to have such amazing people in my life)
- FOOD (Duh! Of course =p)
- cooking/baking
- globetrotting/traveling (My goal is to live abroad again within the next 3 years)
- dining at new restaurants/places
- meeting new people
- Fashion! I love clothes, accessories, and shoes. I am addicted to heels
- open minded people
- random adventures
- laughing out loud
- working out/fitness (I may not be in the best shape of my life yet but I still do have to hit the gym so I don’t become ginormous due to this wonderful career in food that I have haha)
- inside jokes
- dancing (I grew up dancing and have been dancing since I could walk. From hip hop, jazz, salsa to hula and belly dancing. I’m not a pro but I can definitely step to it.)

I HATE:
- negativity and all things associated with it

Hey Marian! Just wanted to let you know that I’ve actually been following your blog since the beginning and have always enjoyed reading your recipes! They always seem easy and inexpensive enough for me to try [which is a great thing!]. I’m leaving a comment to let you know that I have fiiinally found a cooking buddy in nyc and for the first time, instead of just reading your recipe, I actually cooked! Haha. We made your bow-tie chicken pasta casserole today and had a very successful dinner
Keep the posts comin’, girl!
